Love is in the air during our Valentine's Day celebration.  Whether you are with your sweetheart or your family and friends, we will provide a decadent menu and ambience to celebrate love in all its splendor.

The Commodore's Ball is our most prestigious event when the Commodore and his First Mate are formally presented to the club alongside the new Board of Directors.  An elegant menu paired with sophisticated decor to make this grand event one you don't want to miss.

The Easter Bunny makes an appearance and hides eggs around the Venice Yacht Club for children while our Chef serves up a delicious breakfast that the kids and adults will enjoy.

Set Sail in our Shark's Tooth Regatta that includes the Feeding Frenzy Race and Shark's Migration Race on the Gulf of Mexico.  Spectators line the jetty and Venice Beach to cheer on local race teams.

This fun filled family event features a kid's water slide, face painting, dollar dive throughout the day and fireworks at night.  Good old fashioned Barbeque and Cold Drinks are why our members come via boat or car and spend the day with us.

Our members create the most festive holiday atmosphere with themed lighting of power and sail boats.  Snoopy, Santa, Snowmen and twinkling lights fill Robert's Bay during this Holiday event.

Our New Year's Eve celebration is a fantastic end to the year with champagne toasts, elegant decorations and joyful camaraderie.  Members enjoy an upscale menu, balloon drop, photo booth, chocolate fountain and more to welcome in the New Year.

Share your love for Mom by treating her to a decadent champagne breakfast.  It's her special day and we provide the right touches to make her feel special (and she doesn't have to do the dishes)!

Our Thanksgiving Feast is a mix of traditional favorites and classic dishes with a few new twists to keep it interesting.  Whether dining in or taking the Turkey to Go, we will serve you the heartiest meal.

The Windjammer Regatta takes place in Winter when the warm tropical breezes turn a bit more blustery to provide a great day for sailboats racing in the Gulf of Mexico.  

A tradition at Yacht Clubs, the Blessing of the Fleet takes place in May.  All VYC boat owners gather in Robert's Bay and our Reverend blesses them.  A commemorative wreath is placed in the water to honor those who have sailed before us.

Santa interrupts his holiday toy-building to make an appearance at the Venice Yacht Club for children to share their wishes.  Featuring a kid-friendly menu along with an assortment of adult breakfast entrees, this event is special for all. 

Kayak Group

Paddling a kayak is a fun way to cool off during the summer months, and a great way to see the wonderful area sites from the water while staying in shape! Paddlers of all levels are invited to join us for refreshing trips on local waterways. The Club even has three loaner kayaks for use by members and their families. They are single, sit-on-tops and can be reserved by contacting the Dockmaster. We suggest a donation to VYC of $15/day.

On the first Tuesday of each month, we gather for a Kayak Table at the Fleet Captains’ Lunch at 11:30 a.m. upstairs in the Club to plan trips today.

Bingo

Every Tuesday night, enjoy a delicious dinner with VYC friends!

Dinner: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. ~ Bingo: 8:00 p.m.

Enjoy special holiday bingo events and dinners, including Valentine's Day and Candlelight Bingo just to name a few!

Ladies' Bridge

We meet the first and third Tuesday of every month at 11:30 for registration, followed by lunch at noon and bridge at 1:00. Please call the hostess at the Club for reservations at least one day in advance.

Progressive Bridge

Progressive Bridge is for all Venice Yacht Club players and their guests. Please call the Club to make reservations for Bridge and lunch. If you are unable to play, please call in your cancellation by Wednesday noon. We are a fun, light-hearted and eclectic party of players. We look forward to seeing you. We meet the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. You must have reservations to play.

Duplicate Bridge

Meets on the first and third Thursdays at noon. Play begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $4.00 pp and you must have a partner. Call 488-7708 for reservations at least one day in advance.

Ladies Luncheon

The Venice Yacht Club hosts a Ladies Luncheon once a month and a very special “Ladies Night Out” in October which benefits a local charity.  They feature outside speakers who educate on a variety of topics, performances from the Venice Theatre as well as runway shows on the latest fashion trends. Here is a sampling of some recent events:

• Southeastern Guide Dogs – bus trip to the Palmetto Campus to see how these puppies are trained to support individuals with disabilities

• Ladies Night Out – Donations of Pajamas and Books benefitting “The Twig” - a local charity whose mission is encouraging and benefiting the lives of children in foster care

• Women’s Health and Wellness with registered dietitian Bonni London – MS, RDN, LDN

• Safety for Women – with former Venice Police Captain Michael Rose

• “Into the Woods” by Stephen Sondheim – Summer Stock presentation by actors from the Venice Theatre

• A runway show featuring fashions from our own VYC Burgee Store

These are very popular events and we are always looking for new ideas that will be of interest to our members.  This is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet and mingle with other members of the Club and we hope you will join us for one or all of these informative and fun afternoons and evenings.

Women, Words & Wine is a fun-filled evening for women of all ages who are members of VYC.

Wine Club members get invites to special events, functions with winemakers and 10% off on bottled wine purchased with dinner.

Mahjong is a game that originated in China, commonly played by four players. Similar to the Western card game rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy and calculation and involves a certain degree of chance.

Join us for invite only dinners featuring Gourmet food of the highest quality and flavor, and it is prepared with precision and presented in an artful manner.

 For Members interested in fishing – whether old salts or novices—are invited to meet to plan fishing activities. 

A gathering of those who like to banter and talk sail.
