Here at VYC we have a passion for the water.

Location matters and with our proximity to the Gulf of Mexico we are the best choice for your time sailing those turquoise blue waters.  When the winds are calm we look forward to you joining us at our weekly Sailor's Table sharing tales of your adventures on the sea.

Sailing has always been a big part of VYC and many members sail their own boats, join the "JOY" Sailing Club, or crew on other member's boats, so anyone can be a sailor!

Our sailing activities include social sailing, charitable events, racing, youth sailing, and cruising.  A sailor's table is hosted by the Fleet Captain - Sail, once a month where all those interested can swap stories, keep up with scheduled activities and enjoy dinner at the club.

The VYC Sailors organize cruises to other FCYC clubs and marinas throughout the year.  Some of our sailors also join the power boaters on their cruises.

There are many opportunities for club members to race their boats or crew on other member's boats.  The Venice Sailing Squadron has weekly fall and spring races.  See details on our Regattas below and join in the excitement and fun by sailing or being a spectator!

Whether it's summer or year-round, youth can sail at the Venice Youth Boating Association with their learn to sail, race team or camps for kids of various ages and skill levels.  They even offer an adult learn to sail program and family night sails!

Want to have the freedom to sail without buying a boat?  Our Joy Sailing Club is gives you access to a 33ft Ranger that may be used for day sailing, racing and cruising to nearby clubs.  Managed through our Fleet Captain - Sail and Dockmaster it's the best way to find yourself out on the Gulf of Mexico.

Shark's Tooth - March 27, 2021

The Shark's Tooth regatta was a huge success.  The racers enjoyed a great day on the water with good winds and lots of fun.
Congratulations to Bill Gately and his crew of Fruition for 1st place in the Spinnaker Division with an incredible 1st place in every race.  The crew of JOY had a 2nd in the third race as well as winning the Most Giving Boat award.  Thanks for your fundraising efforts.  Joan Marie III won 3rd place in the third race.
This year's racing format was new to the area and we received many accolades.  Next year, we will be incorporating a great party and land activities back into the weekend.
Overall, we raised over $5,700 for the Venice Youth Boating Association.  Let's go kids!
